Rhymes are as fresh as could be and sick trap horror beats. My favorites gotta be Bat out of hell, Split up, on my shit and I kill. I was curious so I figured I'd give it a go and goddamn was I impressed! I started with his first album "Shoot for the Face." Which was very unique and swift flow! I then quickly did my research and saw he had a new album out called "The Insane Asylum" I checked out the preview tracks that he had out and was instantly sold on it! I bought the 20 track album on Amazon for 8.99 and boy was it worth every penny! Each song packs a punch and brings the heat. Or Be Killed.I just started listening to Twisted Insane actually found him in the similar section on spotify listening to artists like, Rittz and Tech N9ne. Least be switched with the following track, Kill To end on the introspective notes of Upside Of eighteen tracks, feels so much like a closer that, even if Twisted Insane wants Strikingly, Rivers of Darkness, the fifteenth If the tracks were ordered differently, to give it some more balance.
To back, which would hit a total of nearly two-and-a-half hours. This was dropped alongside an eighty-minute album, Sick James, and it’s too daunting a task to listen to the two back Its hour-long runtime, but it feels too muddled with tracks that could be cut She says “cover all my steps, I ain’t ever leaving a trail,” which could easilyīe edited out, and that just makes it feel sloppy. Her flow is nice for the most part, but she has an extra syllable when But on the other hand, Lady Insane’s double-time has a jarring
Some scattered features, but they’re hit or miss for me. The only track I can think of that focuses on the topic is Eminem’s Stan, and that was almost twenty years ago. I wish he’d spent more time talking about it, because fans using your art to fuel their own twisted mentality is a side of fame nobody addresses. It also presents a situation that could really have a track to itself-a fan told him her boyfriend beats her to his music. Brainwave reflects on the difficulties in and importance of his career, and how he reconciles with the two. Upside Down talks about Twisted Insane’s depression over losing people in his life, concluding that he has suicidal thoughts at times but he wants to stick around to make a better life for his kids. And I love the introspection and rawness of Upside Down and Brainwave, too. It’s always heart-warming to hear that these lesser-known artists have succeeded and are able to support themselves while resolutely refusing to sell out. Relevant speaks on his refusal to conform to mainstream trends just to be relevant, complete with a funny little mockery of the popular flow right now. Keep On Going focuses on how he wants to build his label and the difficulties he’s faced doing it-while speeding up even more somehow. That said, the other topics do deserve a shout-out, because Twisted Insane covers them well. The other topics covered on the album are refreshing,īut there’s too much horrorcore for them to balance out. The title track and Flame Broil stand out because they showcase his double-time flow best,īut the rest just blend together. It doesn’t make me bored, but it’s a lot of similar content about how much Horrorcore tone feels like it’s beaten to death within the first third of theĪlbum. On the whole, the production does a great job of setting MDK’s electric guitars immediately prepare you for the metal track it The album takes on softer tones, the piano warms up. Samples that keep you from feeling comfortable in the first segment. Throughout this album is noteworthy, really. Sample of the chainsaw continues into the actual rapping.
Paying a debt, which is a perfect way to set the tone. TheĪlbum opens with a 2-minute sound clip of a man being cut up by a chainsaw for not The cover art, album title, and intro trackĪll put you in a space to be listening to the musings of a psychopath.

That said, this is the first time I’d listened to a full project of his, and I He’s one of theīest double-timers out there, and his horrorcore stuff is genuinely chilling. Rap was horrorcore, so I’d heard of Twisted Insane early on. The album, although lacking in a central theme, is an entertaining hour-long listen that could be much improved if it were trimmed down. Horrorcore rapper Twisted Insane, owner of underground label Brainsick, released Sickopatomous, his fifteenth solo album, in September.
